Cover the Night: Advocacy for U.S. citizens

The end of LRA violence will only come as the result of increased support to the existing international effort. We’re coordinating our efforts so that local, national, and global leaders will coordinate theirs. Because when they agree, change can happen.
We’ve been encouraging you to channel your demands for justice to Washington and we’re already seeing results. Since the launch of KONY 2012, a bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives introduced the Kony 2012 resolution into Congress and it has roughly 100 cosponsors. This is remarkable – a true sign that your voices are powerful – but we still have a long way to go.
Make it your mission to get all three of your members of Congress (your two Senators and your one Representative) to cosponsor the Kony 2012 resolution. Here’s how you can do that:

Justice for “some” is not justice for “all”

Invisible Children believes in the equality of all people around the globe and is in no way an anti-gay organization. We stand firmly against any form of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill that has been proposed in Uganda, and commend the tremendous progress the Ugandan LGBTI community has made in showing the world that gay rights are indeed human rights. We are deeply saddened and troubled by recent attempts by some to associate Invisible Children with a pernicious anti-gay worldview. We believe that hate in any form is detrimental to our mission and that the liberty of all human beings is bound together.

Below is a personal statement by Chris Sarette, Invisible Children’s Vice President of Business Operations. Chris has been part of Invisible Children’s management team for five years now. 

Peaceful Surrender

One of the cornerstones of Invisible Children’s Protection Plan is encouraging the peaceful surrender of LRA combatants. Many of those still apart of the LRA are unwilling combatants who wish to escape but are paralyzed by fear. Reaching out directly to LRA forces, Invisible Children is working with partners to give members of the LRA encouragement to escape and to detail the most effective way to do so.

KONY 2012 Part II - Beyond Famous

KONY 2012: Μέρος ΙΙ - Beyond Famous προσφέρει μια πιο προσεκτική ματιά στο LRA και διερευνά τις λύσεις που προτείνονται από τους ηγέτες των επί του παρόντος πληγείσες περιοχές της Κεντροαφρικανικής Δημοκρατίας, Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία του Κονγκό, το Σουδάν και τη Νότια, όπου οι τοπικές κοινότητες να συνεχίσουν να ζουν υπό τη συνεχή απειλή της LRA βία.
